Lizzy Crowne

Lizzy is a Hood River transplant, having moved from Austin, TX and grown up on the East Coast. Lizzy has practiced yoga on and off since high school, but found a deeper sense of grounding and connection to her practice while navigating the pandemic and graduate school.

As a trauma therapist, yoga has been a beautiful complement to how she works somatically with clients. Mutually, Lizzy’s professional experience informs how she shows up as a teacher who values inclusivity, accessibility, autonomy, and empowerment in her yoga classes.

Finding balance with work, Lizzy loves to be in/near water, frolic around the PNW with her rescue dogs, make stained glass art, cook, and listen to early 2000s punk pop music.

1 hour
60-minute, breath-led practice designed to support mobility, reduce tension, and help your body recover and adapt over time. This class integrates foam rolling with traditional yoga using the roller as both a release tool and a supportive prop. Through gentle rolling, mindful movement, and breath awareness, you’ll improve mobility, support joint function, and enhance coordination. Rooted in the understanding that fascia is a whole-body communication system—and that the lymphatic system relies on movement, breath, and pressure changes to circulate—this practice supports both physical recovery and nervous system regulation. You’ll move slowly and with intention, exploring progressive range of motion and ease over intensity, creating the conditions for your body to reorganize, restore, and move with greater clarity and resilience.

Slow & Strong Flow Yoga
Online
med Lizzy Crowne
45 minutes
Slow down—and discover how strong yoga can be. This practice is for anyone who wants to move mindfully, develop a deeper relationship with their body, and discover their own embodied sense of strength and empowerment. This 45-minute practice uses bodyweight, longer holds, and slow, intentional transitions to develop strength, balance, mobility, and greater control throughout your range of motion. We’ll challenge ourselves to transition on the rhythm of one whole, complete breath and to breathe steadily while holding asana. When comfortable, we’ll breathe through the nose using ujjayi pranayama, allowing the inhale and exhale to gradually lengthen. The practice combines dynamic mobility with sustained strength and stretching. We’ll explore functional movement patterns already present within yoga asana while developing whole-body mobility—strength and flexibility working together throughout our available range of motion: Squatting through poses such as Chair and Malasana Lunging through Crescent Lunge and Warrior variations Hinging through Half Forward Fold, Chair, and supported single-leg balance variations Pushing through Plank, Downward-Facing Dog, and slightly wider-arm Chaturanga variations Reaching overhead with strength and mobility Building mobility and resilience in the feet, ankles, hands, and wrists Balancing through core integration, functional feet, and pada bandha We’ll often position the arms in the scapular plane—a natural “V” shape—during weight-bearing and overhead movements to support comfortable, effective shoulder mechanics. Moving slowly increases time under tension, allowing us to build strength while paying close attention to alignment, sensation, breath, and individual range of motion. Transitions become an integral part of the practice—not simply a way to move from one pose to another. Most importantly, this is yoga. Each week will include a simple traditional teaching drawn from yoga philosophy, mantra, pranayama, or meditation, along with one Sanskrit word explored in an accessible and meaningful way. The 45-minute movement practice will be followed by an optional 10-minute recentering through meditation, breathwork, or a mini Yoga Nidra, helping you return to your day feeling steady and restored. Those who need to return to work may quietly leave after the movement practice. Bodyweight strength. Intentional movement. Breath-centered yoga.
