Andrea Borja

Through Yoga, Andrea challenges herself every day as she teaches, to find her voice, and to trust that voice, knowing that what she shares comes from the heart and is shared with love and kindness. Before becoming a Certified Yoga Instructor and going into the field of health and wellness, Andrea had a successful career in finance, working for Fortune 500 companies in the US and abroad. Nearly 10 years ago, after having some serious health issues caused by stress, she decided to take the first step on the journey to becoming who she is today and trained to become a yoga teacher. 

Andrea moved to Nosara, Costa Rica, looking for change, looking to heal from physical ailments, looking to completely change her life style. In Nosara she healed her body with Yoga, exercise, and clean and healthy LIVING (emphasis on the word LIVING).  Andrea now teaches at the world-renowned Bodhi Tree Resort and Retreat Center, and now at Flow Studio in Hood River. 

Through Yoga, Andrea finds more balance in her life, more strength, more flexibility, more awareness, and so much more, and not just on the mat, but most importantly...off the mat. Through Yoga she created long life bonds with many of her students, reconnected to herself, reconnected with old friends, and continues to meet amazing humans every day. Andrea is full of gratitude towards this ancient practice and to all of her teachers along the way and of course to all of her students.

The first 40 minutes of this class is Zumba: latin and international music dance class for all fitness levels and age groups. The final 20 minutes is a yoga practice where we enjoy balancing, stretching, and breathing exercises designed to lead us into peace, presence, and relaxation. This is a donation class. Cash donations go 100% toward supporting affordable, accessible and inclusive movement in our local Latinx community through funding training for Latinx movement leaders.

Saturday September 28th through November 16th 11am-12pm This will be a great time to meet other pregnant moms while you experience the unique practice of prenatal yoga. This class is appropriate for all stages of pregnancy. Classes will include: supportive breath work, empowering movement, a focus on pelvic floor wellbeing, therapeutic stretching, self-myofascial release work, and a deep sense of community.

Some classes we will be adding in modalities like sound healing, self myofascial release techniques, meditative visualization, energy healing, Yoga Nidra, or yin-focused stretches. We have some great restorative props available, but feel free to bring your favorite pillow and blanket for extra coziness (or if class is full). This is a very accessible class for all bodies focused on deeply supported meditative relaxation. No yoga experience necessary. Wear comfortable, cozy, clothing (PJs are fine!).

Trauma-Informed Yoga for Women You are warmly welcomed to join an 8-week educational and experiential series. This will be a place to meditate, move, and support one another. We will move through themes of mindfulness, embodied self compassion, and embracing the senses. The group will spend time focused on somatic and cognitive exercises and education, and there will also be time dedicated to sharing, discussion, and reflection. Whether you are working through trauma, or just want to feel safe in a sensitive group that deeply respects women's bodies, you are welcome here.
