Trauma-Informed Yoga for Women
You are warmly welcomed to join an 8-week educational and experiential series. This will be a place to meditate, move, and support one another. We will move through themes of mindfulness, embodied self compassion, and embracing the senses. The group will spend time focused on somatic and cognitive exercises and education, and there will also be time dedicated to sharing, discussion, and reflection. Whether you are working through trauma, or just want to feel safe in a sensitive group that deeply respects women's bodies, you are welcome here. There is no pressure to be, look, or feel anyway, but your true self.

About Your Teacher:
April Agranoff grew up in concrete jungle of NYC, but traded it in for the rivers and mountains of the Pacific Northwest. She became especially drawn to yoga after her father's stroke. Going to class helped ease her panic attacks more so than talk therapy alone. This experience was so meaningful to her that it led her to pursue yoga training and earn her Master's in Counseling. April is especially passionate about helping women feel safe in their bodies, and has focused her studies on somatic therapies, sexual trauma, depression, and PTSD. When she is not being very serious and studying, she enjoys dancing around her kitchen, and playing with her cat. When her cat isn't taking up all of her time, she likes going outside to explore waterfalls, ski and kayak. April also loves tarot and astrology, and appreciates anyone who lets her read their birth chart. She is excited to see you in class!

Mindfulness, Meditation and Mantra
Saturday, December 7th 11-5
Karen “Karb” Bullard, RYT 500, YACEP
5.5 CE/YTT Hours. Offered In-Studio Only. $99
This workshop is open to yoga, meditation and mindfulness students and teachers. We’ll discuss the history of Mindfulness and how Jon Kabat-Zinn brought this practice to the West back in the 70’s for pain management in a hospital setting (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction or MBSR) and how it has grown to be found nearly everywhere these days (in education, sports, therapy….) and the term has become saturated and overused but truly has such depth and meaning. You will be introduced to simple practices you can incorporate in to your classes and daily life to stimulate sensory awareness and bring about further presence: mindful listening, mindful seeing, mindful eating…
While focusing on Meditation, we’ll take a more in depth look at different techniques including walking, seated and lying down meditation and will discuss different postures, styles and varieties. Finally, there will be an introduction to, and practice of, some of the 12 Traditional Meditation Practices, as well, including mantra.
Japa meditation is a meditative practice that involves repeating a mantra. It is a key component of yoga and other eastern practices. From chanting OM to the more developed Gayatri Mantra, ancient yogis to modern day practitioners have been using mantra as a wonderful way to help stay focused, present and awake. During our introduction to Mantra, we’ll both discuss and practice a variety of mantras and learn about their importance on the yogic path.
In addition to this workshop, we welcome, and encourage, you to expand your meditation training via SAYF platform’s 12 Traditional Yoga Meditation Practices Training at www.sayfyoga.com Successful completion of this online training, that includes satsang with Swami Omkarananda on Vedic Wisdom and Advaita Vedanta and 12 quizzes and practices, will provide you with an additional 12 hours YTT/CE and a Certificate of Completion.
Sunday, December 8th 11-5 $99

-Nicolai Bachman, The Path of the Yoga Sutras
In Pranayama: The Tradition of Therapeutic Breathwork, we will engage the breath and the body as we learn to feel and influence the movement of our subtle energy. Learn techniques to soothe and build resilience in the nervous system, regulate emotions, relieve stress and improve sleep, cultivate steadiness and clarity of mind, and create balance in your energetic system.
5.5 CE/YTT Hours. Offered both In-Studio and Online. $99
"Through the practice of yoga, I found balance and stability in my body, life, relationships, and work. As a teacher, I love the moment when a student discovers a new connection with their body. There may be a look of surprise, a quick intake of breath, or simply a release of tension that allows to find ease in a posture. It’s an experience I know to be available to everyone and every body. When I started teaching yoga to people living with chronic pain I sought out experts in the fields of yoga, physical therapy, and movement science to enhance my training. I now combine my in-depth knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology, my love of yoga, my years of Buddhist meditation, and my expertise in Chinese Medicine to work as a Certified Yoga Therapist. I am particularly passionate about women’s health, and I strive to empower my patients to take charge of their own health and well-being. In a system that medicalizes the cycles of women’s lives, I remind my patients that aging is a beautiful, natural process to be honored and supported -- not a disease to be treated. Yoga Therapy provides the tools to help my patients live their best lives.” ~ Amy Zahm
