Alisha NIghtingale

Alisha signed up for her 200 hour yoga certification course with Flow having no idea what she was getting into. When asked why she was there she said she wanted to strengthen her mind and body, and while that did happen so much more revealed itself to her. She, like many, was first intimidated about going to yoga thinking she should know the positions and names of postures. After she picked those up, she then felt she should push herself to be "better" at her asana practice. After torturing herself in the game of comparison and too much self-criticism, she realized what yoga was all about with the guidance of her amazing teachers. The root word of Yoga in sanskit is 'Yuj', "to join", "to yoke", "to unite". This is what Yoga is. To unite with one another, to unite mind, body and spirit through presence. Presence that is practiced through breath, movement, mantra and love. Coming back daily to her practice is what reminds her of the truth, we are Love <3

Alisha loves art, dance, traveling, vintage clothing, mountain bike riding, rock climbing, back packing, camping and lying next to the Hood River on hot days with loved ones!  She has lived in the Gorge since 2016, and is, also, a Realtor and developer. She has enjoyed giving back to her community through her involvement with organizations like United Way, Chamber of Commerce, Hood River Downtown Association and rapping the gavel at the Elks as the Exalted Ruler (yes you read that title right lol). She looks forward to adding value to the community by holding space for us all to unite in practice.
