Jessica Valentín

From an early age, Jessica has been curious and invested in exploring the connection between her mind, body, and spirit through the medium of dance. Jessica attended NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, where she received a BFA in Dance and a minor in Psychology. In 2014, she became a 300 hour licensed Mind Body Dancer® yoga teacher under the direction of TaraMarie Perri. Alongside dancing professionally in NYC, Jessica began to develop her body of work, Luminous Architecture, in 2015 as her interests in movement and wellness began to branch out. While living in NYC, she built a diverse private clientele, served as a wellness consultant for companies like Reuters and the Freedom Institute, and taught group yoga and fitness classes at various studios across the city.

In 2018, Jessica left the hustle of the big city and relocated to the Pacific Northwest, allowing her to live in closer connection with the rhythms of nature. The wisdom of the natural world and the cycles found within it guide how she structures her own life, and facilitates her offerings to others. Jessica's teaching style weaves together a creative, yet functional approach to movement through anatomical awareness, therapeutic practices, nature connection, and energetic explorations. In class, she strives to empower others and hold space for the medicine of movement to work its magic.

Baby and Me Movement Calling all Gorge mamas and your precious babes - let's gather, move together, and cultivate community! This special postpartum movement class series will provide a supportive space for mamas and your pre-crawling babes to bond through a nourishing movement practice. We will move in ways that help heal, rebuild, and strengthen our bodies after childbirth, and alleviate the common tight/sore spots that come with motherhood. There will be a focus on core and pelvic floor reintegration, bodyweight strength exercises, therapeutic stretching, self-myofascial release work, and sustainable ways to move through daily babycare to prevent tension patterns from taking root in your body. Throughout class, we will weave in creative movement with your baby, and specific movements just for your baby. This is time for you, mama, to move your body for physical and emotional wellbeing, connect with other local mamas, and share in the joy of movement with your little one. We will use various props to support our movement practice. Please bring a baby blanket to use during class to place over the studio props, and anything else that will make your time in class more comfortable. Your baby doesn't have to be present at every class, or any class, if you'd rather take this time for some solo mama movement. The structure of these classes is very flexible and adaptable! Nursing, diaper changing, crying babies, sleeping babies, and playful babies are all welcome in this space.
